New Hyundai i20 Coupe

With a subtly sculpted style and an athletic stance the i20 Coupe is a more rakish variant of the versatile i20 supermini. With impressive fuel efficiency figures and nimble handling the i20 Coupe is a rewarding car to drive every day.

The three-door body style gives the car an elegant silhouette, with a sweeping roofline and sharp styling at either end. The angular swept-back headlights are flanked by LED daytime running lights and front fog lamps as standard. The entry-level SE trim level features 16-inch alloy wheels and these are upgraded to impressive 17-inch rims in the Sport and Sport Nav models. There are many extra personalisation options including metallic or pearlescent paint.

The cabin has a premium feel, with a leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob as standard. Air conditioning is also included as standard on the entry-level SE model with automatic climate control on the Sport and Sport Nav models. You can stay connected with the world as you drive with DAB radio, Bluetooth and a smartphone docking station fitted in all models. At the top of the range, the Sport Nav variant adds a seven-inch touchscreen with satellite navigation. The i20 Coupe is practical as well as stylish, with a 311-litre boot and five full-size seats.

Performance and efficiency

There are three petrol engines to choose from: a 1.0-litre unit with 99bhp, a 1.0-litre unit with 118bhp and a 1.2-litre unit with 83bhp. The most powerful model is also the fastest, accelerating from zero to 60mph in under ten seconds and hitting a top speed of 118mph. The direct steering and tight turning circle makes the i20 Coupe manoeuvrable around town. It is also comfortable to drive on the motorway thanks to a composed feel and refined suspension. The lower powered 1.0-litre unit is the most frugal, returning up to 62.8mpg on a combined cycle. This model emits just 104g/km of CO2, putting it in band B for Vehicle Excise Duty.

All three models are comprehensively equipped with six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD). Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) is also part of the standard safety specification on the i20 Coupe. Hyundai has also equipped this mode with Hill-start Assist Control to prevent you from rolling back when moving off on a steep road.
